Every year, hundreds of high school tennis players are recruited to play for the top college teams, with generous athletic scholarships and the potential of becoming professional tennis players.
But for the thousands of other high school tennis players, there are many opportunities to play in college that go unnoticed.
On Friday, June 24, the USTA Midwest Section will host its 2016 College Showcase, giving students from across the region a chance to learn about the wide range of opportunities in college tennis. The showcase will be held at the Barbara S. Wynne Tennis Center, North Central High School: 1801 E. 86th Street Indianapolis, Indiana 46240.
The College Showcase offers many unique opportunities for high school players:
- Find a tennis program and school well-suited to each student's tennis and academic goals
- Information forum about schools and tennis programs
- Opportunity to participate on court with Coaches in attendance
Registration closes this week! All players are encouraged to fill out a Player Profile Form and be registered through the TennisLink Registration System (ID #850124916) by Friday, June 17, 2016.
Each player must pay $81.13 through the TennisLink registration system. Proceeds will be donated to the Indianapolis Junior Tennis Development Fund and Midwest Youth Tennis Education Foundation. Showcase fees include the following:
- Academic and College Recruiting Information
- College Coach Discussion Panel
- On-Court Play
- T-shirt and Pizza Party
