Share:

The USTA last week announced the top 10 American college players named to the 2022 USTA Collegiate Summer Team. Among the selections were NCAA Division I individual singles champions Ben Shelton of Florida and Peyton Stearns of Texas.

The USTA Collegiate Summer Team is a training program designed to help America’s premier college players assimilate to professional tennis in a team-oriented environment.

MEN’S TEAM:

Murphy Cassone, Arizona State (Overland Park, Kan.)

Stefan Dostanic, USC (Irvine, Calif.)

Cannon Kingsley, Ohio State (Northport, N.Y.)

Sam Riffice, Florida (Orlando, Fla.)

Ben Shelton, Florida (Gainesville, Fla.)

WOMEN’S TEAM:

Eryn Cayetano, USC (Long Beach, Calif.)

Sarah Hamner, South Carolina (Boca Raton, Fla.)

Connie Ma, Stanford (Dublin, Calif.)

Emma Navarro, Virginia (Charleston, S.C.)

Peyton Stearns, Texas (Mason, Ohio)

The players were selected based on a number of criteria, including rankings, individual collegiate tournament results or ITA honors. Players on the team are eligible to receive a grant to travel to USTA Pro Circuit events and coaching support during the summer.

USC assistant coach Rich Bonfiglio and Louisville assistant coach Mario Rincon will accompany the men’s team while Vanderbilt assistant coach Hayley Carter will accompany the women’s team. The three coaches will also provide assistance to any American collegians playing at tournaments throughout the summer.
