Spring Signing Week '09: Bernstein Rides the Green Wave

In 2005 the world looked on in horror as the floodwaters and winds of Hurricane Katrina swept through the historic city of New Orleans. The devastation is still evident four years later, but so is a renewed spirit of resurrection.

Adam Bernstein, Florida five-star standout, wants to be part of that rebuilding in his own way. He signed a National Letter of Intent to play for Tulane University.

"I chose Tulane because it offers me a great education," Adam says thoughtfully. "I get to be a part of a team that is being restarted after having a great reputation and great record as a Division 1 powerhouse in a very competitive arena and yet a small private school."

Adam joins the resurgent Green Wave along with Coby Kramer-Golinkoff, Etham Frenkel and Trevor Getz. It was voted in the top 25 recruiting classes by TennisRecruiting.net's experts.

"This is a pretty significant moment for our program," Coach Mark Booras said in a recent release. "It shows that the tradition and success of Tulane tennis is respected around the country, and that there is a desire to restore this team to a nationally recognized level once again."

"We are excited to have someone of Adam's level joining us," Booras said. "He has a high level of experience at the junior tennis level and can help us be competitive right away. He's a guy who can compete for a spot in the lineup at top 25 schools right away."
