Dear TennisRecruiting.net Member -
Welcome to Recruiting Monthly - the email newsletter of
The Tennis Recruiting Network.
This issue announces a new feature for players and parents - Coaches'
Visit Statistics. We also discuss ways players can market themselves
effectively to coaches - and introduce Prince as a recent addition to
our sponsors.
NEW FOR PLAYERS AND PARENTS - COACHES' VISIT STATS
Players - have you ever wondered how many people are looking at your
player profile? Or which coaches are checking you out?
Starting today, you can find out for yourself.
Create a free account
and
link your player profile,
and you can see the number of visitors - overall and coaches' visits -
to your profile page. Those numbers are available to players and
parents on their profile pages.
Better yet,
Recruiting Advantage
members can dig deeper to find out exactly which coaches are visiting.
Look at this
example statistics page.
So go ahead - find out exactly how many coaches are looking at your
page.
SHOULD I UPDATE MY SCHOOLS OF INTEREST?
One of the most popular features of any recruiting service is
seeing schools of interest for high school athletes.
TennisRecruiting.net provides this service - and players and parents
are welcome to create a free account and list their top schools.
But should you list them?
If you want to market yourself effectively to coaches, the answer is
"yes". Here are some good reasons:
The Numbers - coaches are more likely to view players who list schools
of interest. The average number of coaches' visits for ranked high
school students is 5.6. But for players who update their schools of
interest, that number goes up to 27.2 visits - almost five times as
many!
Giving Coaches Information - here is a quote from an SEC coach who has
taken his program to the NCAA tournament eight of the past ten
seasons:
"Please strongly encourage kids to include their choices for schools -
we really go by this. If a kid puts our school down as an option, and
they're in our target range with their level, we'll definitely recruit
them. A lot of kids don't include this and it's too bad. I think the
more information from the player the better."
Listing information provides more information to coaches. For
example, listing Miami of Ohio shows coaches that you might have
interest in the Midwest, schools from the MAC conference, schools with
12,000-15,000 students, or schools that fit a certain academic
profile.
So, the answer is yes - you should strongly consider listing some
schools of interest.
