Every year, hundreds of high school tennis players are recruited to play for the top college teams, with generous athletic scholarships and the potential of becoming professional tennis players.
But for the thousands of other high school tennis players, there are many opportunities to play in college that go unnoticed.
On Saturday, July 11, the Montgomery TennisPlex will host its second annual College Tennis Showcase, giving USTA Mid-Atlantic high school players from the area a chance to learn about college tennis and interact with coaches. The showcase will be held at the Montgomery TennisPlex in Boyds, Maryland, and will include both information and on-court sessions.
College coaches from Harvard, Navy, UMBC, Johns Hopkins, George Washington, Howard, Haverford, and more will be in attendance. There will be expert speakers on athletic recruiting compliance, and alumni speakers who are now in college will discuss life as a student athlete.
The College Showcase offers many unique opportunities for high school players:
- Gain access to top coaches & play at our award winning facility
- Learn to be an ideal recruit
- Learn about scholarship & financial aid options
Registration closes this week! Interested players can fill out the Player Form online - and all registrations must be completed by this Wednesday, July 1. The cost of attendance is $75.
