Georgia Southern Joins ITA Summer Circuit Calendar
Share:

Georgia Southern University tennis coaches Sander Koning and Sean McCaffrey are always looking for ways to showcase their campus to a broader spectrum of tennis players.

They want people to see the facilities and experience the college-town feel of Statesboro.

Having witnessed the benefits of hosting an ITA Summer Circuit event at other schools, Koning and McCaffrey joined forces to bring one to GSU this summer. The tournament will take place July 14-16 at the Wallis Tennis Center.

“I think it’s a good opportunity for players to come here and see the campus and see what Georgia Southern is all about,” said Koning, in his fourth season as the men’s coach at GSU. “I think we have a really great campus and school and both programs are doing well. I thought bringing an ITA event here just gives us a little bit more publicity and incentive for people to come here and see what is over here.”
