Four-Star Giese Ready to Join Lubbock Christian's Restart
Share:

Kelly Giese admits the recruiting pitch “wasn’t really clicking at first” when he originally spoke to Lubbock Christian head coach Jason Speegle.

The university was restarting the tennis programs and the Chaps will begin play this upcoming season in NCAA Division II.

Giese, a Manhattan Beach, California, native wasn’t sure he wanted to attend college out of state.

“Then, I got to the point where I began to really consider that,” he said. “After two months of not talking, I reached out again and asked where (Speegle) was in the recruiting process. He said, ‘Kelly, it’s great to hear from you. I have one more spot and one more scholarship left.’”

Giese took that as “fate” and decided to commit. The four-star recent graduate signed his National Letter of Intent in late June and will be on the court for Lubbock Christian this fall.
