Collin Beduhn used a fishing trip to Canada to help him make his college decision. The five-star senior from Maple Grove, Minnesota headed north of the border to spend time with his dad’s side of the family.
During the three days, he weighed the pros and cons of every school he was considering while waiting for the fish to bite.

“I pretty much had a conversation with everyone who was up there when I was in their boat,” Beduhn said.
By the time he left to return home, Beduhn knew the University of Wisconsin was the right place for him to play at the next level. He called head coach Danny Westerman and informed him about his commitment.
“It was kind of clear. Wisconsin kind of checked every box that I wanted,” Beduhn said. “I really like the coach. I think he is a really great guy, and I really like the school. I think it’s a school where if something happened to my tennis and I couldn’t play, I feel like I would still have a good time there.”
