Fall Signing Week '08: Isip Catches the Waves

Family, religion, tennis, and a career in sports medicine are four topics where graduating senior Catherine Isip speaks confidently. These four factors proved to play a major role in Isip's college decision process:
She knew she wanted to stay close to home.
"I limited myself to staying in Southern California." She knew she was looking for a school that provided Sunday church services. "I wanted a college where I could continue my religious ways."
She knew that signing early for a top tennis school had been a goal of hers throughout her junior career. "I'm so happy I was offered the opportunity to make an early decision and receive a full scholarship to a great school."
And while most high school students are not keen on choosing a career path before even entering college, Isip said, "Sports medicine is the major I want."
In a country with over 4,500 colleges and universities, which ones would meet Isip's specific needs?
"It came down to Pepperdine University and the University of California at Irvine," said Isip.
