HIGH SCHOOL
In 2019, as a freshman, Charles finished the year at 19-3, losing in the Sectional Finals of the IHSAA Individual State tournament. He was named All-District, as well as All-State Honorable Mention in Singles, one of only eight freshmen selected in the state. As a sophomore, Charles was 22-2 in 2020, losing in the Regional Finals of the IHSAA Individual State tournament. He was selected as the top player in District 4 and earned a selection to the All-State 2nd Team in Singles. In 2021, as a junior, Charles was undefeated in the regular season and was the Pioneer Academic Athletic Conference (PAAC) #1 Singles Champion. In the post-season, he lost in the Regionals of the IHSAA Individual State tournament and finished at 21-1. He was once again selected as the top player in District 4 and earned a selection to the All-State 2nd Team in Singles. As a senior in 2022, Charles was again undefeated in the regular season and defended his title as the PAAC #1 Singles Champion. His high school tennis career came to an end in the Regional Finals of the IHSAA State tournament, as he finished the season at 22-1, and 84-7 overall, playing #1 Singles all four years. Charles was selected as the top player in District 4, for the third consecutive year, and All-State 1st Team in Singles, and he was named as an Indiana Senior All-Star, representing the Northeast Region. At the All-Star tournament in November, Charles defeated the 2022 Individual Singles State Champion and was 4-0 in Singles and Doubles on the day, leading the Northeast Region as they won the 2022 All-Star Championship.
