Coaching Achievements
Chad Stoloff joins the Northern Colorado women's tennis program after three seasons with the Springfield College as both men's and women's tennis head coach.
Stoloff has wasted no time in making his mark on Alden Street, as this past season both teams went 12-6 overall, marking the first time since 1997 that the men's and women's tennis teams at Springfield College have been over .500 in the same year. Additionally, in his two years with the Pride, student-athletes have combined for 31 ITA All-Academic honors, while both squads have received the ITA All-Academic team honor in both 2016 and 2017.
Stoloff has previous head coaching experience as he was the head men's tennis coach at the University of Nevada from 2005-2009. While at the helm of the Wolfpack, Stoloff led the squad to its first-ever national ranking in program history, ranking 59th out of 265 Division I programs. Stoloff recruited and coached two individuals who attained Division I national singles rankings, the first such occurrence in program history, and mentored one student-athlete who went on to compete in the Davis Cup for his country.
At Nevada Stoloff built the program into a national contender and winning program by consistently ranking in the top 75 in the nation in Division 1.
Prior to his time in Nevada, Stoloff was the assistant men's tennis coach at the University of Hawaii, a volunteer assistant coach with the San Diego State University men's tennis program, and an assistant men's tennis coach at Grossmont College.
At San Diego State, Stoloff helped lead the team to Mountain West Conference Regular Season and Tournament Titles and advance into the second round of the NCAA Tournament. He tutored the No. 1 doubles team in the nation to the National Championship Doubles Finals. Stoloff also coached his No. 1 singles All-American to the Round of 16 of the NCAA Singles Championship and No. 2 Doubles All-Americans at San Diego State.
At University of Hawaii, he recruited the WAC Freshman of the Year who qualified for the NCAA Singles Championship. He coached and recruited players who went on to win three straight Western Athletic Conference Tournament Titles, the first time in school history this had ever been accomplished for men's tennis.
A former student-athlete himself, Stoloff was the No. 1 singles and doubles player for the University of Nevada men's tennis team from 1999-2002 and served as team captain during his final season with the Wolfpack. Stoloff earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from University of Nevada, Reno before receiving a Master of Sports Science in Coaching and Sports Management from the United States Sports Academy.
Every year at Springfield College, Nevada, Hawaii and San Diego State the teams have earned ITA All-Academic Honors and multiple individuals per year have earned ITA Scholar-Athlete Honors.
As a student-athlete Stoloff earned All-Academic Honors every semester including being awarded the Stan Bates Award for the Western Athletic Conference awarded to one male and one female student-athlete for the entire conference per year. Stoloff graduated with honors from University of Nevada and graduated magna cum laude from the US Sports Academy.
Coaching Highlights
· Was named the NEWMAC Men's Tennis Coach of the Year in his first season as head coach of men's and women's tennis at Springfield College.
· Helped the women's program to its third-straight trip to the NEWMAC Championship Tournament in 2015.
· Guided the Pride to one of its best season's in program history in 2016, and had three student-athletes garner NEWMAC All-Conference accolades
