Three-star recruit Grace Dodd will not let an injury deter her on the path to playing college tennis next season for Sacramento State.
Dodd, from Farmers Branch, Texas, suffered a concussion while competing in the semifinals of doubles at the 2018 Texas Grand Slam last June. She and her partner finished fourth, but rehabilitation is the No. 1 goal for the dedicated Dodd.

“I am easing back into things,” Dodd said. “Once I start full time, I will practice three to four hours a day, as well as going to the gym for three days a week. I will also play a lot of nationals and UTR events.”
One of her coaches, David Anderson, is the founder of the Brookhaven Tennis Academy, located in Farmers Branch, a suburb of Dallas. Anderson was especially proud of Dodd’s work ethic.
“I have worked with Grace as her primary coach since 2013,” Anderson said. “Grace will be an incredible college player. She is a born leader, through her effort, and loves the team atmosphere.”
