Following a successful virtual debut in the summer, Donovan Tennis Strategies is hosting another DTS Virtual Showcase event on January 9-10, 2021.
The cost is $199 (clients get a discounted rate of $129), and the entry deadline is Jan. 5, 2021 at 5 p.m. EST.
A lengthy list of men’s and women’s programs from all levels of college tennis are scheduled to take part in the event, which has gone virtual because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Because of Covid-19, the NCAA Division I dead period has been extended to April 15, 2021, meaning coaches are prohibited from attending tournaments and live showcase events and recruits are prohibited from taking official visits.
Many coaches at other levels of college have limits on recruiting stemming from safety and budgetary concerns.
DTS held its first virtual showcase in July, and 125 players worldwide participated along with college coaches from 115 women’s programs and 102 men’s programs.
The January event will feature a coaches panel and admissions presentation. Coaches introduce themselves and provide information on their programs in a “Meet the Coaches” video clip and players can submit match video.
The 700 college coaches on the DTS contact list will receive profiles on showcase participants that include contact information, school attended, GPA, test scores, intended area of study in college and ranking and rating information.
Senior Caroline Marcus took part in the DTS virtual showcase in July, and got connected with Bucknell head coach Tammy Cecchini. She committed to Bucknell a few months later.
“I wasn’t sure how much it would actually help me, but it ended up changing my decision completely,” Marcus said of the virtual showcase. “I am so glad I signed up and took part.”
