When Brett Pearson was younger, all he wanted to do was attend the University of Washington. His parents graduated from the school and he grew up around the campus.
But as he got older, Pearson’s horizons expanded and he was open to new opportunities. He considered college options beyond UW and spoke with several coaches during the recruiting process.

Yet in the end, Pearson was right back at the beginning. The four-star senior from Kirkland, Washington recently signed with the Huskies.
“It was kind of a last-minute thing,” Pearson said. “I sat down and started thinking about what I wanted to do and I just had a gut feeling I wanted to be a Husky. It’s a really good academic school and Coach (Matt) Anger seemed great.”
Pearson will create a generational legacy within the UW program. His dad and one of his uncles played for the Huskies. But Pearson didn’t feel any pressure to sign with UW. His dad only wanted what was best for him.
