In the U.S. and around the world, December 18th is a day where things are winding down. Colleges are already out, and K-12 schools will break later this week. In the workplace, bosses (well, the good ones, anyway) made sure that all important work was completed last week. Late December is a time when people are thinking about holiday parties, visiting family and friends, and (of course) shopping.
Not always so for the junior tennis player family. The longer break from school means you can compete in tournaments with larger draws. And there were many such tournaments last month as well - around fall breaks and the Thanksgiving Holiday.
All that play has made for some nice movement in the rankings. We feature the biggest movers in our Holiday edition of the Hot 100.
Each month, the Hot 100 features players who have been performing well on the court, improving their rankings by winning matches against quality competition. The December lists feature the one hundred boys and girls who most improved their ranking during the month of November.
