Ananya Annapantula’s parents arrived in the United States from India more than 20 years ago with nothing but a suitcase. They wanted to pursue better jobs and build a future for their children.

“It was like the American dream and they wanted us to live in America and try to have better educational opportunities,” Annapantula said. “Their story is super inspiring, and I have always wanted to make them proud about going to college and doing big things in life.”
The four-star senior from Mason, Ohio took the next step in achieving that goal by committing to play for Middlebury College, a Division III program in Vermont. Annapantula will be playing for new head coach Taka Bertrand. The former Vanderbilt star was hired in July to replace Rachel Kahan, who left to take the head coaching job at Yale.
“Middlebury is so good in athletics and is also such an amazing academic school,” Annapantula said. “It really is a win-win situation, and the team camaraderie there is so amazing. They were so nice on my visit and the coaches were phenomenal.”
