Good Times on The Farm
It’s not every day that a first-year head coach leads a team ranked No. 3 nationally - or secures the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class. But Stanford University is no ordinary program, and Frankie Brennan is no ordinary coach.

With three decades of experience at Stanford—including 15 years as an assistant and 14 as associate head coach—Brennan has been a cornerstone of the program’s success, contributing to 703 team victories and 12 NCAA championships. This fall, he’ll look to build on that legacy as he welcomes the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class, a trio of Blue Chip seniors who secured 11 of 13 first-place votes from our panel and earned 320 out of a possible 325 points.
Monika Ekstrand (Delray Beach, Fla.), Alyssa Ahn (San Diego, Calif.), and Tianmei Wang (San Marino, Calif.) are set to arrive at The Farm in September. Ekstrand has shined on the ITF junior circuit, capturing a J200 title in Montreal in September 2023 and qualifying for both the US Open and French Open juniors in 2024. Ahn, a standout at the 18s Nationals in San Diego with six singles wins, has been making her mark on the ITF women’s circuit, including a quarterfinal appearance at a W15 event in Lakewood, Calif., last summer. Wang, a versatile competitor and gold ball winner at the Easter Bowl and Winter Nationals, has excelled across USTA, ITF, and UTR events.
This elite trio, fixtures in the Top 5 of the Class of 2025, solidifies Stanford’s continued dominance and sets the stage for a bright future under Brennan’s leadership.
Five Up High
The University of Texas ranks No. 2 in our list, with Head Coach Howard Joffe following up last year’s top-ranked class with a pair of Top 5 Blue Chip recruits - Elizabeth Ionescu (York, Penn.) and Christasha McNeil (Lindenhurst, N.Y.). The duo earned 306 points in the voting, securing the Longhorns’ high placement.

Next up at No. 3 are the UCLA Bruins. Blue Chip senior Kayla Chung (Stanton, Calif.) and international standout Mayu Crossley from Japan caught the attention of our panel, earning a first-place vote and 298 points to comfortably claim the No. 3 spot.
Rounding out the Top 5 are the Georgia Bulldogs at No. 4 and the USC Trojans at No. 5.
Conference Call
The 25 teams in our rankings represent five conferences, but the Southeastern Conference (SEC) stands out as the dominant force. The SEC boasts the most teams in both the Top 25 and the Top 10.
Leading the charge are SEC powerhouses Texas (No. 2) and Georgia (No. 4), joined in the Top 10 by the South Carolina Gamecocks (No. 6) and LSU Tigers (No. 7), giving the conference four of the Top 7 spots. Additional SEC programs making the rankings include the Vanderbilt Commodores (No. 11), Auburn Tigers (No. 14), Texas A&M Aggies (No. 17), and Oklahoma Sooners (No. 18).
The ACC and Big Ten also make strong showings, with seven and six teams in the rankings, respectively.
Powering Up
All 25 schools in the rankings come from the five so-called “power conferences” - the four power conferences in football as well as the Ivy League.
Drop Shots
Scattershooting through the rankings …
- Coast to Coast Dominance - California, North Carolina, and Texas shine as the top-producing states, each boasting three ranked recruiting classes. Indiana follows with two, making it the only other state with multiple programs in the rankings.
- First Timers - The University of Wisconsin debuts in the rankings at No. 21, marking the Badgers' first-ever appearance. After back-to-back NCAA tournament wins, this breakthrough recruiting class signals a program on the rise.
- Building Momentum - Thirteen of the 25 programs in this year’s rankings are riding the wave of consecutive Top 25 recruiting classes. These teams are clearly focused on stacking talent and securing a bright future.
- The Cardinal Standard - Stanford continues its dominance with an incredible streak of 11 consecutive ranked recruiting classes dating back to 2015. The Cardinal have appeared in 19 of the 20 rankings cycles, a testament to their sustained excellence.
- Mustang Revival - The SMU Mustangs are galloping back onto the scene. With their first ranked class since 2013, SMU’s return coincides with their recent rise across sports since joining the ACC. Their No. 24-ranked class ends the longest hiatus of any program in this year’s list.
